    Lenten Sacrificial Program

Today the students brought home a Lenten Calendar and canister. Each day on the calendar lists an activity as well as a suggested sacrificial offering to be placed in the offering canister on dedicated days. Lent is a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We hope that these activities, as well as our Lenten Missions, will help our parish grow in deeper respect and love of God and deepen our understanding of the need to care for others. The offering canisters will be collected in Church on Easter Sunday before the Masses or you may also drop them off at school and we will hand in on your behalf. This year we are collecting funds for The Maryhill Crisis Nursery located in Chicago, under the direction of Sister Catherine Ryan. Thank you for your participation in this program.

    PREMIER NIGHT

Preparations for our annual Premier Night have begun. Funds raised this year will be used towards the enhancement of our school gymnasium and as a secondary goal, with funding our scholarship funds. Please help us by sharing the attached letter with your family, friends and perhaps your employer.

Remember that even the smallest of donations can make a great impact.

Thank you in advance for your help in making this night a SUCCESS!

    Baby It's Cold Outside

Parents please be sure to dress your children for the cold weather. The kids will be playing outside during the cold months as long as the temperature is 25 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Students need to be dressed in hats, gloves, and snow pants in order to be able to play safely outside during cold temperatures. The administration will also take into account the wind speed and real feel temperatures before making the decision to send the children out to recess.

    Counseling at St. Joseph School

We are very excited to announce that SJS will now be partnered with Catholic Charities to provide counseling services and case management to our students. Teachers, parents, and administrators can refer a student to Mrs. Rybarczyk and she will contact Catholic Charities on their behalf. Counseling will be provided here at St. Joseph School once or twice a week. All counseling services are strictly confidential. Please do not delay in reaching out! Contact Mrs. Rybarczyk at krybarczyksjs@gmail.com

    Virtue of the Month

Fortitude is the moral virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in the pursuit of the good. It strengthens the resolve to resist temptations and to overcome obstacles in the moral life. The virtue of fortitude enables one to conquer fear, even fear of death, and to face trials and persecutions. It disposes one even to renounce and sacrifice his life in defense of a just cause. "The Lord is my strength and my song."70 "In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
