Spotlight: Meet Scott Cory
Scott Cory, originally from Santa Ynez, rejoins the CES team in September 2022 as our Principal. With a teaching degree from California State University Chico, and administrative credential from California State University, Fresno; Mr. Cory moved into administrator because he wanted the opportunity to help students by helping teachers and parents.
Mr. Cory, with over thirty three years in the educational field, loves being a principal because he gets to connect with staff, students, parents, and the community. He enjoys supporting the teachers that he works with because when everyone works together, special things happen for the students and school. Mr. Cory is also compelled to make a difference in the lives of students by helping the solve problems. He believes strongly in building strong relationships because “together we can be our best.”
Mr. Cory is beyond excited to return to CES in the fall! CES has a special place in his heart because all three of his own children attended and he knows how awesome Mountain Kids are! They don’t back down from a challenge and always strive to be the best they can be.
In his free time, Mr. Cory enjoys sports, reading, hiking, being with his family, and traveling. His favorite children’s book is Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel. Mr. Cory enjoys breakfast at all times of day and dreams of traveling to Ireland to hike, visit castles, meet the people, enjoy the accent, and of course, eat breakfast.

Masking Updates
The chart below will be located on each entrance of all sites to assist our stakeholders understanding of the current guidance.
Our schools continue to take collective actions, including maximizing ventilation, providing access to personal protective equipment as well as testing and vaccination opportunities. We will continue to work closely with our partners at Public Health and to provide our school leaders access to the most current guidance and information to guide decision-making. Additional information on State guidance can be found here.
As we move toward the end of another challenging school year we appreciate everyone’s patience and resilience.
Volunteers on Campus
Volunteers on campus
CES values our volunteers who help us so much. This year, in addition to the paperwork that volunteers complete we will be requiring
proof of vaccination
Or a weekly Covid test
and be fingerprinted (this can be done at the District Office in Quincy)
You are considered a volunteer if you come in consistently to assist at school in your child’s class. Field Trip drivers or parents that help for one event are not considered volunteers in this circumstance.
Testing will occur on campus once a week starting in early October but one can get a test result from anywhere convenient. The “quick test” AKA antigen will be the test provided at the school. At this time, over the counter tests will not be accepted.
