Husky Update

Third Issue- September 2021

Hello Hollencrest Families!

We want to start off by thanking you for reading our newsletter and updates! Our last update had over 1000 views and it is great to see the information we share being put to good use. This helps us to know that our Husky Updates are an effective tool for sharing information on all things Hollencrest. We hope this version of the Husky Update finds you and your family doing well.

Going forward, we will be publishing the Husky Update twice a month, typically during the first and third weeks of the month. Other updates, newsletters, and bulletins may go out as needed in support of different programs and initiatives.

Thank you for reading!

PE Uniform Shipping Delay

Thank you to all Huskies who took advantage of our PE uniform presale. Unfortunately, our vendor has notified us of a shipping delay and we are now expecting our uniforms to arrive sometime over the next few weeks. When the uniforms arrive, we will send out an update to let our families know. For the time being, students can wear comfortable clothes appropriate for both PE and the classroom or bring another set of comfortable clothes to keep in their locker.

Make sure all students have their masks with them prior to arrival each day! Students did a great job last week as it relates to masking up. If a mask is lost, forgotten, or if a strap breaks, we have replacements masks in the front office and in each and every classroom.

No school Monday, September 6th in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. We will see students back on campus Tuesday 9/7.

Big picture

Please help keep our campus as safe and healthy as possible by keeping your student home if any of the following conditions apply:

Big picture

Lost and Found

As the weather cools, students bring more apparel to school and sometimes these items end up in our lost and found. Our lost and found items are kept in our library/media center. Students can access the lost and found before and after school and during nutrition and lunch. Though students are getting older and becoming more responsible, it is still a good idea for them the have names written on the inside of jackets so that we can easily get those items back in the hands of our students. Students are discouraged from bringing non-essential items to school such as electronics, game consoles, and other devices that are not used for educational purposes.

Chromebook Issues?

If your student has an issue with their Chromebook or charger, the first stop should be our Media Center. In most cases, they can quickly diagnose whether or not the device needs to be reset or switched out entirely. The Media Center staff will have your student on their way and back in class and online in no time.

Labor Day Weekend Charge Reminder

This is a reminder to have all students charge their devices each and every night so that they are ready to go each morning. Many of our classes have digital curricula which require students to utilize their Chromebooks on a daily basis, so we want to make sure that all students are able to participate fully each day.
