March 6, 2020
Colts,
I had the privilege of beginning the week representing Colleyville Middle School at the Making Middle School Matter Symposium presented by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals in Austin. It was a true honor to receive the recognition on behalf of our campus for being designated a Texas School To Watch and a National Model School. When I listened to the other campuses present, I was reminded of how special CMS is and the many opportunities we provide our Colts to have success during their middle school years.
Mid week our Girls Select Choir program came home with the Sweepstakes award at their UIL concert and also received all ones (highest rating) for their performances. Congrats to our choir program!
We ended the week with our 10th annual student vs. staff basketball game. This tradition is always one of the highlights of the year and a great way to kick off spring break. I hope all our Colts have a fun spring break and get a chance to rest and recharge. Don't forget to move your clocks forward this weekend and enjoy the spring weather and week ahead!

2020 Census
Beginning in March 2020, students and families in GCISD will have an opportunity to respond and participate in activities related to the 2020 Census. An accurate representation of our student and family population is important for future federal funding implications. Beginning Mid-March, families will receive a letter in the mail with a code for someone to complete the census online or over the phone. It is encouraged to complete the census upon receiving the code so there is not a need for follow up communication or an in-person visit from a census representative. Please be assured that census data is confidential and forms are available in 13 home languages. Below is more information in English and Spanish if you with to learn more:
