A Message from Dr. Lowry
Timberwolf Family,
Last week was an incredible week!
Our volleyball teams finished out their season this past weekend. Five out of our six volleyball teams made it to the championship game and many took home the district title. To say I am proud is an understatement. All of our volleyball athletes and coaches worked incredibly hard this season and achieved greatness. 8A placed 4th placed in the district. 8B and 8C, placed 2nd and was named district runner-up. Our 7C team earned 1st place and was named district champs. And our 7A and 7B teams earned the title of 1st place district champs with an undefeated season!!!! Congratulations!
Also, this past Wednesday, our school participated in Unity Day. It was great to see the color orange fill our hallways. We ended the week with our amazing PTA out doing themselves once again by hosting another great Fun Food Friday.
This week our football season will wrap up with our end of season tournaments. Please note, our 7th grade teams will play at Katy High school, and our 8th grade teams will be playing at Legacy Stadium. Please wish them the best of luck!
We also recognize this week as Red Ribbon Week. Let’s see our students participate in promoting freedom from drugs. Our theme days are listed below.
Finally, we have many upcoming events this week. Our WCJH Orchestra and Band will be holding their Masquerade concerts. On Friday, our Pink Out Pep Rally, and Monster Mash Dance will finish out October.
Please remember, as I have said before, with Halloween approaching, costumes are not permitted to be worn at school.
Here’s to looking forward to another great WoodCreek Week!
GO TIMBERWOLVES!

NATIONAL CHILD ID PROGRAM
Passed in the last legislative session, SB 2158, requires Districts provide all students in grades K through 8th an inkless child identification fingerprint/DNA kit. This is a community service provided by The National Child Identification Program’s initiative dedicated to reducing the number of missing children. The initiative includes providing parents and guardians with an ID kit they can use to protect their children. The ID Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian. If ever needed, the ID Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts in locating a missing child.
Upon receipt of the ID Kits, Katy ISD will deliver the required number of kits to each elementary and junior high campus. Reminder this is an In-Home fingerprint kit that is to be stored at the student’s home. All information and instructions are housed with the ID Kit.
More information will be sent out out once ID Kits are delivered to WCJH.
EMERGENCY CONNECTIVITY FUND GRANT PROGRAM
In connection with the Emergency Connectivity Fund grant, Katy ISD would like to inform you of the opportunity for your child to check out a district owned device. The purpose of the ECF program is to supply devices to meet the remote learning needs of students. Students who may benefit from these devices include:
a. Students who need a device – Digital Divide
b. Families who may only have one computer at home, but several students
c. Students in tutoring programs
Students will be loaned a Lenovo Chromebook to use at home. They will have access to the device for the entire year. The devices will need to be turned in on or before May 25, 2023. Students may be asked to return the device during state testing. If you would like further information or are interested in the program, please have you child go the library to pick up a form. Once the form is completed and signed, please return the form to the librarian and she will issue the device to your child. If you have any questions, please free to email them to S1660642@katyisd.org
COLLEGE AND CAREER CONNECTIONS
The sessions will take place weekly from 6:00PM - 7:00PM via Zoom webinar.
