Cells
We could not live without cells
Nucleus
Controls the whole cell. Has all of the DNA and is like the mayor of a city. The nucleus occurs in both plant and animal cell.
Cell Membrane
The cell membrane occurs in both a plant and animal cell. It controls what comes in and out of a cell and acts as doorman.
Ribosomes
The ribosomes occur in both a plant and animal cell. The ribosomes create protein for the cell.
Vacuole
This organelle only occurs in a plant cell. The vacuole stores nutrients and water.
Rough ER
Found in both a animal and plant cell. Makes the protein a cell need and acts like the mitochondria.
Cell wall
Occurs in only the plants. Protects the cell from injury. The cell wall acts as a wall surrounding a village.
Cell Theory
All living things are made of cells.
Cells carry out functions needed to support life.
Cells form from only other living cells.
Prokaryotic and eukaryotic
Prokaryotic means that the cell does not have a nucleus. Eukaryotic means that the cell does have a nucleus.
