Water
What need to do to save it
Water conservation is a problem that needs more attention. Climate change, unchecked dam building, and excessive irrigation are some of the biggest water wasters. 1.1 billion people lack access to water and 2.6 billion lack adequate sanitation. Also, california is going through a major drought. 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 were the driest months in recorded history. California grows lots of foods that are important to american consumers, and the prices will go up is the drought continues. these foods include Avocados, Berries, Broccoli, Grapes, Lettuce, Packaged salad, Peppers, and Tomatoes. People can save water in very simple ways that they may not think of. We need to be more conscious about how much water we use because many people don’t have any. sscw.d.ord says that A leaky faucet can waste 100 gallons a day. Watering your lawn less, fixing pipes, and taking shorter showers can save hundreds of gallons of water a day. The WWF says that There has been more than a 50% decline in freshwater species populations over the last 30 years, making species loss in freshwater ecosystems faster than any other biome. We need to change things today if we want things to be better for our tomorrow.
