Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students and Families!
It has been another busy week preparing to welcome our students and staff back to school. A big piece of news is that the offices were able to move back into the main building as it has power and water, ahead of schedule. Construction is making progress, and our building is getting prepared for the year ahead.
An exciting part of this time of year is getting to see students again. This past week I had the opportunity to speak to our football team, visit with athletes at our fair parking fundraiser, and watch our FFA students show at the Clackamas County Fair. Our students inspire me daily with their talents and zest for life. I am looking forward to being able to interact with them at school daily.
Speaking of FFA, our chapter had a successful and busy summer. Joshua Artino and Brooke Jonas qualified for FFA Nationals for their Agriscience projects. We also had three America FFA Degree Recipients: Garrett Botz, Freddy Orozco, and Jaden Stewart. In addition, our Canby FFA chapter received a 2-star ranking.
We are looking forward to registration. For all returning students, school registration/verification is online at this link. We are holding registration events on Tuesday, August 23 & Thursday, August 25 from 12:00-7:00 in the Main Building. During these times, students will take pictures and get student IDs and get lockers and parking passes. New students can get registered at this time, and we will have computers available for those families who need assistance with registering online. Counselors will be available for new students only. Current CHS students can email their counselor if they have questions. Reminder: schedules will be available to students on September 2, 2022.
Just a reminder, the Main Office has moved back to the Main Building! If you need assistance, the CHS office is open during August from 8:00-3:00. Another update, our newsletter will be moving to Thursday afternoons.
Please save the date for our Open House event that includes some additional activities to welcome freshmen. It is Wednesday, August 31. See more details below. This will be a great opportunity to connect with us.
In gratitude,
Cari Sloan
