Tigers Win Home Opener

RT. 66 Shootout

December 14, 2018 - Waynesville (75) vs. St. Louis Carnahan (66)

The WHS Tigers sprinted out to 22 -12 lead in the first quarter. The Tigers built their lead to 18 points in the 4th quarter before the Carnahan Cougars rallied with some hot shooting from long range in the final period. Tigers hung on for a 75 - 66 win. The Tigers move to 4 -2 on the season.

Coach Pilz comments

"I thought we played well as a team tonight. We played harder and smarter than we did a week ago. We need to keep improving daily. I liked how our guys were able to apply what we practice into game situations. Our offense spacing was great tonight. We will have a tough game tomorrow. McCluer North is really good."

Tigers Push State Ranked McCluer North, Come Up Short 64 - 52

December 15, 2018 - Waynesville (52) vs. McCluer North (64)

Waynesville Tigers were defeated by state-ranked McCluer North 64 - 52 Saturday night in the final game of the 2018 Rt. 66 Shootout. Tigers trailed the NorthStars 31- 26 at the half. McCluer North pulled way in the third quarter and held off the Tigers for a 12 point victory. Tigers go to 4-3 on the season.

Coach Pilz comments

"Our guys had great effort tonight. We competed and played team basketball. McCluer North will be ranked #1 in the state (Missouri Coaches Poll) this week. They are well-coached and play at a super pace. We had a good practice this morning and were able to execute our game plan effectively. We just came up a little short. We learned many lessons tonight which will benefit us as we move forward. The game was intense and had a playoff feel."
