Club Starts Thursday Jan 7- Hopefully!!!!

  • THEY ARE MAKING SNOW! If there is beginner terrain open we hope to be able to go this week. If we can't, I will make an announcement by the end of the day Wednesday. If we miss the day, it will add onto the end of our schedule. Thursday's after February break.

SKI EQUIPMENT: Ski equipment (boards, skis, poles) may not be brought to school via regular school bus runs. Equipment taken to Auditorium at the start of the school day.

Canandaigua Snow-Sports Club Trip Reminder Check-List


o Parents recorded make/model of equipment at home

o Wear / Carry as much equipment as possible

o 1 duffel bag max…

o Skis / Snowboard / Poles

o Boots

o Hat

o Helmet

o Gloves

o Neck warmer / Gator

o Jacket/Parka

o Snow-pants

o Warm, dry socks

o Warm thermal underwear, base layer

o Snacks

o Optional Money for food at Bristol

o Watch

o Season / Twilight Pass (those who have them)

Weekly Schedule


· Report to assigned room

ID BADGES, and rental coupons (if these were given back to teachers) will be distributed with attendance.


2) 2:45 Load Buses with ALL personal belongings.

3) 3:00 ~ Buses are on route

· No eating of food on bus.

· Proper behavior and etiquette.

· Attempt to stay with buddies.

4) 3:15~ Arrival at Bristol. Unload upon the direction of the chaperones.

5) Take EVERYTHING off the bus!


6) Proceed to the CANANDAIGUA “BASE TABLE” in main lodge to stow bags. Pack and plan to wear as much gear as possible from school.

7) *Those who have their own equipment, can head out to mountain with partners.


** Those renting, will go with advisor to the rental building. Keep track of your street shoes. NEED YOUR RENTAL COUPON!


*** LESSONS: Head to Snow sports Meeting Place {left of the Big Lift} 4:00 for beginners and newer folks!!! TAKE YOUR LESSONS!!!!

8) 7:30 pm LAST RUN: Coming OFF the hill at this time

· 7:30 ~ Return all rental equipment

· 7:30 ~ Meet parents in the Main Lodge at Base Tables if being “signed out”.

· 7:45 All meet at FLAG POLE for bus loading.

9) 7:45 ~ From the FLAG POLES, Students begin heading to Return Bus.

· FINAL attendance check.

· Turn in ARM BAND

· If not signed out… students WILL ride the bus back to school.

· Buses rolling for home at 8:00pm.

· Buses in CMS Bus Loop at +/- 8:15pm.

10) 8:15 ~ PARENTS waiting in the parking Chappel St. lot by the auditorium. Parents, we ask that you please be waiting for us.

KNOW THE CODE.... to be safe on the Mountain!


1. Always stay in control. Be able to stop or avoid other people and objects.

2. People ahead of you have the Right of Way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.

4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

5. Always use devices to help prevent run-away equipment.

6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas including the woods.

7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely. Use Safety Bars: THE LAW!

First Aid

MINOR injury: Come to lodge to see a chaperone

MAJOR injury: Go to First Aid station north of the Main Lodge. Ask for Mrs. Welch to be paged. Mrs. Welch is a Ski Patroller and will carry a radio.


  • Must follow and adhere to the SKIER SAFETY CONDUCT protocol.
  • Students must stay with their buddies at all times (except transitions from lessons). Set good plans and meeting areas.
  • Students MUST wear Canandaigua ID arm bands & return each night.
  • Helmets should be worn at all times when skiing or riding.


All equipment should be clearly labeled with student’s name and phone number. Students are responsible for their own equipment. MENTALLY NOTE where you place equipment EVERY TIME you take it off.

~ Rentals: Be sure your equipment matches the codes on your tickets.
