Bethany's Books
Sophomore Bethany Adcock has started a Little Free Library inside the playground at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor.
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that promotes a love of reading, creativity and community involvement through the neighborly exchange of books. Readers can collect a free book from the enclosed box; they are also encouraged to leave a book for future readers. Bethany has worked to develop a healthy selection of books for kids, teens and adults of all ages. Now she needs readers!
Bethany wants to share her love of reading and the community with everyone. Visit Bethany's Little Free Library today!
A special thank you to Zion Lutheran Church, Thrivent Financial and all individuals that have donated books.

Texas Bluebonnet Books
On May 25, Mrs. Lenamon and Mrs. Barton took fifth grader, Leila Hogan, and fourth graders, Madilynn Hamilton, Makenzie Hamilton and Lesley Garcia to Barnes & Noble in Waco. Each of these students read at least 15 of this year's 20 Texas Bluebonnet Award books. As a reward for their accomplishment, these students picked out free books from Barnes and Noble. The students had a grand time shopping for their books.

"You're Instrumental!"
The Bulldog Pride participated in a Disney "You're Instrumental" workshop in Orlando, Florida, on June 4-8. During the two-and-a-half hour workshop, members of the Pride recorded their own performance onto a soundtrack for a Disney animation and rehearsed music from the Disney animated film repertoire. Starting with an easy selection, the conductor, a professional Disney World musician, quickly increased the difficulty of each following piece. The students learned how to rehearse with more engagement and success! For the finale, the students were given fifty-five minutes to learn, rehearse and record an entirely new piece of music as a soundtrack to the "Stampede" clip from The Lion King animated movie. The clinician was very impressed with the Pride's rehearsal and performance.
FCA Victory Bowl Band
The following McGregor students volunteered to perform in the 7th-Annual Fellowship of Chirstian Athletes (FCA) Victory Bowl Band. The band, which also performs for the Waco Department of Veterans Affairs, is arranged by an organizing body that meets for rehearsal the Friday before the FCA Victory Bowl football game. McGregor band directors Tim Grace and Greg Vaughn are part of this organizing body.
The FCA Victory Bowl is a Central Texas All-Star game that includes graduated seniors from the 12 county area covered by the Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
A special thank you to these student volunteers.

Project Graduation
This year's Project Graduation was a huge success thanks to our parents and a long list of sponsors. The MHS Class of 2017 gathered at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco to enjoy a safe and drug-free celebration on their last night together. The group enjoyed casino games, pool, ping pong, foosball, board games, movies, karaoke, raquetball, human gerbil ball races, dodgeball, basketball, a bounce house, snacks and door prizes.
A special thank you to all that helped make the event possible.

McGregor ISD Education Foundation and TFNB – Your Bank For Life Present $5,000 to McGregor High School for Revolution 2.0 Community Service Initiative
TFNB – Your Bank for Life President David Littlewood joined the McGregor ISD Education Foundation in awarding $5,000 to McGregor High School to fund the Revolution 2.0 community service day on May 26, 2017. During the Revolution 2.0 on May 19, 2017, McGregor High School students ventured into the city of McGregor to complete various tasks such as window washing, yard work, painting and clean up.
The McGregor ISD Education Foundation is proud support the Revolution 2.0 as its first student development program. The funding allowed MISD students to participate in a community service project that promotes character and leadership development.
TFNB – Your Bank for Life has supported the mission of the McGregor ISD Education Foundation since its origin in early 2016. The bank pledged $12,500 over the next four years to the foundation’s annual support campaign for a grand total of $50,000.
Littlewood views the quality of the local public school system as the cornerstone of the future of McGregor. He says the McGregor ISD Education Foundation will create opportunities to reach so many students and faculty in positive ways outside of public funding that truly enhance and make a difference.
