Boys Basketball Faces Off Against Blanco
The LVMS Viking basketball is now in full swing. The 7th grade B team faced Blanco, at home, last Monday (December 2). This game marked the second game of the season. Blanco was a formidable opponent, but the Vikings hung in there and pulled out the win. Reid Eleuterius was recognized for his defensive performance and Kassady Girard was recognized for his offensive performance. The 7th grade team is now 2-0 on the season.
Seventh grade earned a 12 point victory which we pulled away in the fourth quarter. Leading score for the game was Grayson Buster, Brooks Jackson, and Porter Herrod. Leading defense was Henry Sisemore and Grayson Buster. Leading in assists was Kohen Blakely. Great job seventh grade A for the victory against Blanco! Next week, we play Gateway hope to see you guys there.
The LVMS Viking 8th grade B team also had Blanco on the schedule last Monday. The Panther challenged the Vikings several times, between the buzzers and closed the score to almost 10 points in the final quarter, but the Vikings defense fought back and let the offensive open the score back up! Defensive recognition, for this game, goes to Nash Renfro and Kais Northcutt. Kayd Houston was recognized for his offensive performance.
The 8th grade A boys basketball team lost a hard fought game with the Blanco Panthers this week. This loss dropped the Vikings down to a second place tie in district play.
Decker Sims lead the team in scoring with 8 points. Gavin Smith and Zac Zaleski both finished the night with 7 points. Other scorers include Tanner Tredemeyer 3 points, Devin Shipp 2 points, and Caden Nichols 2 points. Ben Wilder led the team in rebounding before fouling out in the 3rd quarter. Devin Shipp also had an outstanding night on the boards and also finished with a blocked shot. The Vikings will face Gateway Prep on Monday in Georgetown.
