Sycamore JH Summer Reading
Help prevent summer reading loss by reading a great book! Studies have shown that reading proficiency levels can decrease over the summer. Summer Therapy
Limited services will be available for families who are interested in receiving care through the summer. While many of our school-based therapists are off during the summer, Nicole Snyder, E.H. Greene School therapist, will be available to see students through a modified schedule. The summer schedule will be prioritized for students who are currently participating in our school-based therapy program. New students may be accepted depending on need and availability.
We recognize that needs can arise at any time for a child. Nicole will be available to assist in evaluating possible options for support or treatment through the summer, as well as answer questions about connecting to care in the fall in each of our school buildings. Families can reach Nicole at (513) 686-1750 extension 2050 or snydern@sycamoreschools.org.
Our partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital continues to grow as we increase access to care for our students and families. In the Fall, we will have a fully staffed school-based team, serving all seven of our schools.
As always, should you have any questions, concerns, or needs, you can reach out to Lisa Zelvy, Pupil Services Supervisor, at (513) 686-1700 or zelvyl@sycamoreschools.org.
Child nutrition
A friendly reminder to check your student's lunch accounts and pay any debt currently owed. Click here to check via parent portal. This will follow your student from building to building. Contact the Child Nutrition Department with any questions (513) 686-1796.
Sycamore Bridges
Sycamore Community Schools has launched a new effort to connects people who need help with those who can pitch in.
The district has connected with Neighborhood Bridges to start Sycamore Bridges, which will bridge the gap between students and families in need and local advocates and donors.
“Our community has a history of being incredibly generous,” said Karen Naber, Assistant Superintendent. “Sycamore Bridges will be a fantastic way to spread kindness, linking those in need with those who want to help.”
Counselors, teachers, administrators, and clergy who learn about needs can post them on the Sycamore Bridges website. Requests can be for anything from financial assistance to clothing, food, and furniture needs. Those who want to help can sign up to fill the needs. It's all anonymous and helping is as simple as clicking a button.
Donors can drop off items at the Blue Ash Fire Station 13 on Kenwood Road or the Montgomery Fire Station on Montgomery Road.
“We want to remove barriers so kids can come to school every day ready to learn,” said Lori Drasnin, Sycamore Bridges Director.
Anyone can sign up to be a donor. Click here to learn more information. Be sure to follow Sycamore Bridges on Facebook and Twitter.
