CDHS MARCHING BAND 2023-24 Schedule: Please find the marching band schedule for next year, here. Please, put these dates on your calendar for all current and prospective members of the CDHS Marching RamBand! It is sure to be a great year, with lots of exciting information and opportunities to come. The season kickoff meeting is set for May 9th, 2023 at 5:00pm in the CDHS Auditorium. This is set for after the all concert bands dress rehearsal on the same day.
Mega Band: Monday, April, 3rd (Wind Ensemble only)- The CDSD MegaBand festival is being put on for the second time ever (after finally getting approval, post-covid). This will include an afternoon of all the elementary, middle and high school band programs that ‘feed’ into CDHS, coming to the high school to rehearse, work together, and perform that evening. Due to the amount of space available for such an undertaking, the CDHS Wind Ensemble will be the only group involved. Please mark your calendars accordingly!
PA State Capital Performance: May 1st (Marching Band only)- By request of the organizers, the CDHS Marching RamBand will be performing at the PA State Capital on May 1st, at 10am during the school day. We will be honoring all of the VFW posts throughout the Commonwealth of PA, as well as, celebrating the heritage of freedom Americans enjoy on a daily basis. This will include military leaders, government officials, and many special guests inside the capital rotunda. Marching band, please keep an eye out for another email, and the Stack Team App, for two, quick, extra rehearsals we’ll need to learn the music we need to for the event. Also, please make sure your CD marching band uniform is in good shape :-D!
Lions Club Band Opportunity: A New experience that I was unaware of, The Pennsylvania Lions Club sponsors a few All State Band that meets over the summer that get to play at the Lions Club convention in Boston and other venues across the Northeast. This looks like a FABULOUS opportunity for any High School musician that wants to play over the summer while traveling to other parts of the US. Please find more information at www.palionsband.org . Please also be aware of that there is a fee associated with the 'international trip', but it is only a partial fee, as the Lions Club picks up a large part of the cost of the trip.
Thanks for reading and be on the lookout for more information coming soon!!!
Best,
Mr. Tate
