Dear Woodside Students, Families and Staff:

This is a brief Wildcats Notes, but there will be updates throughout the week!

The end of the school year is always full of emotions. For our graduating seniors, the final school bells ring this week and then they are off to new adventures: college, trade school, work, military service or travel. For all our students, tired as they might be as they prepare for their final exams and projects, I hope they all can look back on this year as a year of growth and change...change for the better, change in the form of broadening their understanding in several subjects as well as a deeper understanding of themselves and their classmates. For our staff, thank you for your commitment to our students in both academic and social/emotional supports, right down to the wire.

For a few of our staff, they have reached a major milestone and have announced their retirement. Please make sure to show your appreciation for the following legendary educators, soon-to-be retirees:

  • Gwen Sidley (36 years) - Digital and Visual Performing Arts and English Departments
  • Nancy Staves (26 years) - PE and Edgenuity Departments & Badminton Coach

The following educator is NOT retiring, but she will be moving over to teach Independent Studies after having taught nearly every level of English, teaching Psychology, and serving as a mentor teacher in the district:

  • Kathleen Coughlin (35 years) - English Department

Additional updates and photos will be shared later this week as we honor these three inspiring educators whose years of service at Woodside High School total an impressive 97 years and encouraging thousands of young adults to pursue their life's passions.

The ABO Needs Parent Leadership

Attention All Parents of Athletes!

The ABO appreciates all of your monetary donations, your time spent driving your student to and from sporting events, and your energy in cheering on the teams. Thank you for supporting our Wildcats!

It's time to get more involved with Woodside athletics! We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of parent volunteers who help with the ABO, but we are in need of a new volunteer to take on the leadership of the ABO for 2023/2024. Our current president, Meredith McLean, is willing to help advise our new leader. This job can be shared so find a friend and volunteer together!
