Week 25, Quarter 3

Mission Statement

The mission of Pasco High School is to create a collaborative environment that nurtures learning, mutual respect, and a strong work ethic, thereby helping to develop future citizens for the challenges that lie ahead.

Important: Stadium Drive Re-pavement!!!

On Tuesday, February, 4th, thru Thursday, February 6th, Stadium Drive will be re-paved. This will require a new traffic pattern during the process. All student drivers will enter and exit using the bus loop as the buses will be taking a different traffic pattern. All buses will be located on the track at the stadium. It is crucial that everyone please be patient and give yourself a few extra minutes to arrive and depart from school during this time. There will be staff and cones to help mark the new traffic patterns. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. All students walking to and from the portables need to cross the road with caution. It is possible student drivers will be entering and exiting the school at any time.

Important Reminders!

Parents and Students, it is extremely important that everyone understands that ALL students must leave or be picked up immediately after school at 2pm. If your student is staying after school for tutoring, sports practice, detention, etc., they must report directly to their after school activity and be under adult supervision. At no time is a student allowed to “hang-out” in the parking lot or anywhere on campus.

Parents and Students, I would like to remind you that leaving campus during the school day is against school board policy. Students that have class off campus either through online instruction or at PHSC is the only excusable reason to leave campus. Additionally, being in the parking lot during the school day is also NEVER allowed. Please make sure that if you are signing out of school for an appointment or signing back in, to do so through the front office. This is the way to ensure your absences are excused and you are following the correct procedures. Students, again, the dress code is in effect at all times. Please review the dress code and make sure outfits meet the dress code. Lastly, if you need to check-out your student, please make sure to do this prior to 1:30pm. All check-outs after 1:30pm will have to wait until the close of the school day at 2:00pm.

Attendance

Students/Parents,

Please turn in all attendance notes to Ms. Benke at the guidance desk. All notes must be turned in within 2 days of absence. Absence notes must also have your name, ID#, date(s) you were absent and the reason for the absence. If you are absent for more than 5 days, you must have a doctor's note. Also, if you are checked out during the day, you will need to turn in a note for the periods missed.

Tardies and Early Check Outs

Students need to arrive on time and stay through dismissal so they will receive important directions, class instruction and avoid disrupting other students. Parents can set a good example by encouraging students to follow the school’s time schedule. All parents must report to the front office when picking up their child prior to the regular dismissal time. (From Pasco County Schools Student Code of Conduct)

Check out Procedure:

  1. Present written note from parent/guardian to front desk before 9 AM for same day check outs. (emailed notes not accepted)
  2. Front Desk Secretary (Jackie Floyd) verifies note with parent/guardian
  3. Student checks out at front desk at the designated time.
  4. Attendance is updated in myStudent by Time and Attendance Secretary (Jill Benke). Recorded as “L” in period in which the student checks out. Remaining periods are recorded as “U” unexcused absence until documentation is submitted in writing to the Attendance Secretary. If check-out is for a Medical or Dental Appt. written verification from them is requested. If student checks out “sick” a written parent note is requested. Notes must be turned in within 2 days of return to school.

Students who leave campus without following checkout procedures are considered “skipping” and absence(s) will not be excused.
