Reading Comprehension
Dear Parents
Parents in our classroom we are going to being working on comprehension strategies. The ones were are going to focus on first are predicting/inferring, visualizing, making connections/background knowledge, questioning, determining importance/ summarizing. I am making this flyer so you can help your student use them. We are trying to incorporate them while we are reading. You can read with your child and demonstrate them (this is call a read aloud) or if you will you can let them read and have them tell you what they are thinking as they read (this is call a think-aloud). I have added pictures that will help your remember the strategies. Also there is an example video of a read aloud.
