MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL OPHUS
Dear Fairview Families,
Thank you to all of you who were able to attend our Fine Arts Night last evening! I know the students were excited to show off their art work, shop at the Book Fair and enjoy some ice cream together as we celebrated another wonderful year of fine arts at Fairview. I am so proud of our Fairview chorus students for their amazing performance last evening as well. Kudos to them on a job well done and to Mrs. Happ, Mrs. Piscitello, Mrs. Larson and all of the other staff and parent volunteers who made this happen! Speaking of amazing volunteers, we are so thankful for how the Fairview community showered the staff with so much appreciation this week during our annual Staff Appreciation Week! We were treated to delicious meals, creative and encouraging decorations, kind words, and various treats throughout the week, and we couldn’t have felt more special as a result of the support and kindness you shared. Thank you for helping us to feel so honored and valued this week! As we look forward to the weekend, I want to wish all of our Fairview moms a very Happy Mother’s Day. Enjoy the time with your families and thank you for taking the time to read this week’s newsletter. If you’d like to watch this week’s edition of the FES news, that can be found at this link.
Sincerely,
Dan Ophus
Fairview Principal
Field Day: On Wednesday, May 24th, we will be holding our annual Field Day (May 25th is the rain date). In order to have a successful Field Day, we need your help! Please consider signing up to lead a station by filling out this form by Monday, May 15th. In looking at our numbers, we could really use some more AM volunteers as we are currently short by 10 helpers. Once we have our list of volunteers, we will send a separate email to sign up for which station you would like to help with. Thank you so much for considering helping out on Field Day! It is always one of our students favorite days of the school year, and we couldn’t pull it all off without you!
Andy’s Frozen Custard: As a special treat to celebrate the end of the school year, our wonderful PTO is bringing in Andy’s Frozen Custard for our students to enjoy on Friday, May 26th. In order for your child to participate, you will need to provide permission using this form. We will make accommodations if your child has an allergy that would permit them from enjoying the treat, so we are asking that all families please fill out the form by Friday, May 12th (one per Fairview child in your household).
Fun Fair: Our PTO Fun Fair is coming up on Friday, May 19th! This is an amazing event for our Fairview community, and we hope you are able to join us between 4:00-7:00 pm. For more information about the Fun Fair, click on the links included in the newsletter below. We will need plenty of volunteers to make this event successful, so please consider signing up if you are planning to attend.
Please contact Julie Manis (jmanis@d57.org) or Cindy Buell (cbuell@d57.org) if you need assistance with language translation of any of the flyers that appear in the newsletter.
READY FOR SOME FUN? PURCHASE YOUR FUN FAIR WRISTBANDS TODAY!
The success of this event relies heavily on volunteers. This event requires more volunteers than any other PTO event. If you are able to sign up for a shift, click here.
