The RHE Rattler
April 22, 2022
A Note from Mrs. Frankhouser
I am thrilled that Vanessa Randels, our current assistant principal, has been named principal of Rough Hollow Elementary next school year! Vanessa has been an amazing partner as we opened this school and built the culture here. She is absolutely ready for her new role, and our Rattler community is lucky to have her at the helm!
Here is a message from Mrs. Randels.
I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the students and families here at Rough Hollow Elementary! So many students, families, and staff have stopped by to tell me congratulations which just speaks to how wonderful our community is. I have a passion for leading and am truly grateful to help all of our students learn and grow. As some of you may know, Lake Travis is not where I call home however, I can say with certainty that Rough Hollow Elementary IS my home and the students and teachers are what drive me to be my best every single day. Thank you for the support and outreach you have demonstrated over the past week. Next year we are going to continue to focus on student leadership through the implementation of Leader In Me and I am committed to growing our families in the 7 Habits as well! Once again, thank you for all the kind words and wishes and I can't wait for next year! GOOOOOOO Rattlers!
Parent Choice Transfers to Other LTISD Schools
In an effort to relieve overcrowding at Rough Hollow Elementary, the School Board revised board policy to allow for parent choice transfers to other elementary campuses that have more space. Though we hate to see Rattlers go to other schools, we welcome the relief. Every school in LTISD is amazing, and we all work together to provide the very best for our students!
We need your feedback!

Field Trips Coming Up!
- There is limited space on some field trips.
- Students on field trips are at school. They MUST stay with the school group at all times. Parents attending the trip may not take their child from the group for any reason including but not limited to a special treat, special lunch, souvenir, errand etc.
- All students attending the trip must go on the bus and return to school on the bus.
- No siblings may attend.
As you can imagine, safety is our top priority on trips. Teachers and school personnel are 100% responsible for all students at all times. Thank you for helping!

The STAAR Test
Our testing landscape is changing this year. We have a new test vendor and with that comes some changes in the way items are assessed. All testing is online. Our Rattlers participated in a practice "interim assessment" right before spring break that gave them needed practice with the testing platform and gave teachers valuable feedback on their progress.
