A Message from the Executive Director
At the heart of Sunnybrook Hope Center, God is showing up each day - walking alongside our guests, working through our volunteers, hearing our prayers, and extending His extraordinary love. Each week, we hear countless stories of how lives are changed. I'm reminded of one of my favorite verses from Matthew 18:20 (NIV):
"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
One of our volunteers shared the following testimony where our guests witnessed God's presence in their lives.
Last night, one of our volunteers noticed a young woman waiting for her as she finished helping other guests. When they were able to visit, the woman asked the volunteer if she remembered her. Two weeks ago, the woman shared that the volunteer had prayed with her and her daughter, asking the Lord to heal her daughter's anxiety. Her anxiety was preventing her from sleeping. The woman went on to share the daughter woke up the next morning, ran to her mom and shared 'those prayers healed me.' She slept all night, and her anxiety was gone. That was two weeks ago.
PRAISE THE LORD for healing, rest, and, most importantly, for reminding our guests He hears our prayers. And thank you to each of you who serve in or give to Sunnybrook Hope Center. Our mission is so much more than food because of you. If you would like to learn how to support this ministry, please email me at tinas@sunnybrookhopecenter.org. I would love the opportunity to share with you how God is working.
God bless,
Tina Stroud
Executive Director
Volunteer Appreciation Night Held
The evening was just one way Sunnybrook Community Church appreciates and encourages our volunteers, and to build community among our volunteers and staff. Following dinner and fellowship, we moved into the auditorium for a welcome and update from Pastor Jeff, followed by comedian Jonny W.
Sunnybrook Hope Center, along with the other ministries of Sunnybrook Community Church, would not exist without the generous servant hearts of our incredible volunteers. Thank you for all you do!
Celebrating God's Love through Baptisms
This month, two Hope Center volunteers and one Hope Center guest publicly declared their love for Jesus! Congratulations Maggie, Melinda, and Paulette!
Sunnybrook Hope Center Warehouse Blessings Impact Churches and Ministries
"It was overwhelming to witness God's generosity through our partnership with World Vision," Tina Stroud shared. "Thirty percent of the organizations blessed this month were churches and ministries who were helping people know the Lord and begin a fresh start."
One of the stories we shared this month was from Radiant Life Church who welcomed a man who was recently released from prison through their doors. They were able to share the Gospel with him after he moved to the area to start a new beginning.
We are so thankful for our partnership with World Vision to spread the love of Jesus and the news of the Gospel!
Congratulations and Welcome to Sunnybrook Community Church's Newest Members!
Generosity Stocks the Pantry for an Entire Month
"This year, we wanted to raise $3,000 which would provide the necessary pantry staples 2 weeks," Tina Stroud, Executive Director, shared. "That day, we were amazed to watch God at work as individuals gave generously resulting in exceeding the goal and funding an entire month of food! We are so thankful for everyone who answered God's call that day to help."
A special thank you to the Casey's Foundation who gave generously to match all donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000.
