Camp Big Springs Teachers Needed
For: All Teachers
After a two-year absence due Covid, Camp Big Springs, Provo City School District’s fifth grade camp, is returning this year and is looking for teachers.
Camp Big Springs is a week long (Monday – Friday) experience for fifth graders who are entering sixth grade. Camp takes place over four sessions in June and is located in South Fork Canyon (20 minutes from Provo). Teachers at camp spend the week in the great outdoors with an awesome group of kids, going on hikes, teaching outdoor skills, crafts, and STEM classes. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for teachers and students that they won’t ever forget.
Apply now to join this close knit family of teachers and become the next generation of Camp Big Springs. We especially need teachers for the girls’ tents.
- Find out more on the Camp Big Springs website.
- Apply today through the job portal under Outdoor Ed.
- If you have questions email bills@provo.edu
ESP of the Year Award
It’s that time of year to submit ESP of the Year Nominations. For the next 2 months, we (PESPA) will be collecting nominations for ESP of the year. If you know a secretary, custodian, technology, maintenance, transportation, paraprofessional, or child nutrition worker, that has gone above and beyond and that you think should receive this award, nominate them!

Bite-sized PD: Google Calendar
I know, I know. We all use Google Calendars already! But this is a core tool that all of use in the district and there may be some ways to make things a lot easier for yourself, your students and their families, your staff or work teams, and others you interact with. Learn to create multiple calendars, make calendars public and allow people to subscribe to your calendars.

What's Your CTE Story
What does CTE mean to you? February is CTE month, and we would love to know how our programs have affected you, your students, and your classrooms! We are passionate about our work and we know that the students in our district are greatly benefiting from everyone's efforts to enrich their lives and prepare them for the work environment. Give us your story, and we could feature you and your classroom on the district website. CTE would like to reach out to those who had CTE memories to share their experience in CTE. Old photos will be great. Send stories and photos to josefinah@provo.edu.
