World Languages Learning Network Updates
Based on the feedback you provided regarding curriculum resources we have made the following updates to the courses identified as in need of revisions:
M/J Exploratory Spanish- Critical concepts were identified to allow a slower pace in order to focus instruction on foundational skills to build student background knowledge to develop a stronger foundation that will enable the student to be successful in higher levels of the language.
Spanish 1- Critical concepts were identified to allow a slower pace in order to focus instruction on foundational skills to build student background knowledge to develop a stronger foundation that will enable the student to be successful in higher levels of the language.
Spanish 2, 3 and 4- Critical concepts were identified to allow a slower pace to continue to build up student knowledge of the target language and culture.
Addition of curriculum resources to support comprehensible input for level 1 of all languages.
If you have been implementing comprehensible input in your classroom or are interested in implementing CI in your classroom, we have added an entire year of resources that support the use of comprehensible input practices in your classroom.
These resources are designed to be used for ANY LANGUAGE LEVEL 1 COURSE. There is an option for non-targeted CI and an option for Targeted CI thematic units.
Student facing Canvas pages for M/J Exploratory Spanish, Spanish 1, and French 1 will be available. These canvas pages will be available to use with students with pre-loaded discussion boards, quizzes, assignments, and tasks appropriate for each level of the language. You can still edit, revise, and personalize these Canvas pages to use with your students!
