Soule Road School

We made it!
We made it through our first full week of hybrid and remote learning! As we navigate this new path for learning in our district, we are facing many challenges along the way. One of those challenges is the large number of students engaging in the remote lessons at the same time, even with the excellent instruction from Ms. Remillard-Morin and Mrs. Ferrara. The elementary team is working to create a model that will allow for more effective teaching and learning. We are revising the remote learning plan and will be adding remote teachers. This will enable us to reduce the number of students receiving instruction at the same time and allow for small group supports as well. The reality is that the hybrid or remote model will never be the same as 100% in-person school, but we are committed to making it the very best we can.
Thank you to all the parents, guardians, grandparents and caregivers who continue to support the learning at home. We could not do any of this without you. Penguin up!
Health & Safety Expectations
Masks will be worn by all students and staff.
Physical Distancing is practiced throughout the day.
Handwashing and Hand Sanitizer Stations

Sanitizing Stations are located throughout the building

Lunch & Recess
Students each lunch in their classrooms with their teachers. The play areas around the school are divided so that each class has its own area with a recess monitor. Students are invited to bring their own items to use at recess. There is a soccer ball for students to kick to each other as well as an option to play an organized game. Students are also encouraged to take a mask break during the 30 minute recess block.
Chromebooks
While we wait for delivery of an order of Chromebooks, we continue to distribute all the devices that are currently available in the district. We know the devices are essential to remote learning and we are working to get those devices into the hands of our students. Thank you for your continued patience!
