Theme for the Year: Goodness

Our Motto: Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul

At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples, recognizing the goodness of God in our lives and in the world around us, each and every day.

Our Mission and Vision Statements

St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a safe and prayerful learning environment, enveloped by an intimate community of active and faithful families.

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.

From the Principal

I hope you have all enjoyed the last day of Catholic Schools Week 2020: Celebrating Families. The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) states, "Parents, guardians and other family members play a vital role in Catholic education. Not only do they volunteer at the school, they instill values and expectations for academic excellence in their children at home. We acknowledge the role of families in Catholic education and celebrate their contributions to the success of our schools on the last day of National Catholic Schools Week, and all year long."

We are not St. Joseph Catholic School without the support of our families. Thank you for all you do to enrich our school. Just as the people are the Church, the families are the school. Your contributions help create the culture and climate our students enjoy today. May God continue to bless all of you, and to bless St. Joseph Catholic School.

In Christ's service,

Diane Price, M.Ed.L.

New saintly quote to ponder

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love. - St. Basil

Monday Morning Prayer Service

Lunar New Year

We began our school week with the Lunar New Year Prayer Service. It was a wonderful way to share this special event with the entire school. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped prepare the students to participate in such a joyful service. Thank you, Mrs. Do, for organizing everything.

8th Grade vs Faculty and staff volleyball game

Our eighth graders were quite the opponents in this year's volleyball games. We faculty and staff were worn out afterwards. A fun time was had by all, with all three games being nail-bitingly close! Class of 2020, you are loved!

Moments Around Campus

In honor of the Catholic Schools Week day of celebrating vocations, students created cards for our priests and sisters. The school also hosted a luncheon for the seven surrounding parish priests and staff members. They loved seeing the students perform for them, and enjoyed touring the school. Thank you to all the students who entertained the group, and to the volunteers who helped make this luncheon possible!
We celebrated our community in a variety of ways this week. For example, we had treats at lunches, spirit wear, and crazy hat and sock day; all in honor of Catholic Schools Week. It is truly a gift to be in a school where students can be challenged academically, while openly expressing their Catholic faith.
Second graders worked together to problem solve how to save a gummy worm named "Fred" while following specific rules to do so. Well done, Knights! Looks like Fred survived!

Flag Retirement Ceremony

We are so grateful to the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus for presenting the Flag Retirement Ceremony for the students, on the day we honored our country. Everyone truly enjoyed witnessing this special moment. Thank you!

Library Excitement

Mrs. Hall came to help the students arrange quilt squares (originally hand sewn by our students) for the Veterans’ Quilt of Valor. The three quilts, once finished, will be presented to worthy veterans. Mrs. Hall - Thank you for helping us show our gratitude to veterans during Catholic Schools Week!

Art this Week

Mr. Suarez shared some SJCS artworks celebrating Chinese New Year 2020, “YEAR OF THE RAT,”designed by 4th Grade, 5th Grade and 7th Grade students in his Art classes.

Moments in the Community

Some of our Knight families spent their precious family time standing up for the unborn! Thank you for your missionary discipleship! This is precisely what we are all called to do. Great to see those t-shirts put to such a wonderful job!

STREAM Enrichment classes enjoyed a “snow” day with a tallest snowman building contest. Much fun was had by all, and we made quite a mess! Happy Catholic Schools Week! Thank you for entrusting your precious children to us this year.

Today, groups of students worked on specific robot tasks with one another. Great work, RoboKnights! Keep problem solving and learning through trial and error.
Without our mentors, we could not have a Robotics Club. Thank you for your dedication to our students! You are so appreciated, all of you!
