From the Principal's Desk

Hello DiPietro Families,

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. As we go into this next week I would like to provide our families with a challenge. We could do some uplifting again. As many of you may, or may not, know some of our own families comprise of families in which all, or one, of the main caregivers, are essential workers. (nurses, police officers, firefighters, guards, military, doctors, assisted living caregivers, etc...) Let's flood social media with thank yous for our essential workers. You could take a picture of your child holding a drawing/sign, just post the sign, or any other creative idea. If you could tag the FB pages of the DiPietro Paws , DiPietro Elementary PTO, (if you are a member of the group), and The Bellingham MA Public Schools District Page. This is purely optional of course.

Questions may be starting to brew in your mind so here are a few I am anticipating in hopes that it will help you.

  1. When will we be able to retrieve our child's belongings? This process will begin in about two weeks, maybe less. We will be getting items together and then having you drive up to the school and someone will bring the belongings to your car.
  2. What about Kindergarten Screening? We will not be setting up kindergarten screening this school year. A letter outlining our plans will be sent to the families of incoming kindergarteners.
  3. What will happen with the technology we borrowed from DiPietro? We WILL be collecting the technology at the very end of the school year. Details will be sent out as we get closer to the end of the school year.
  4. What will happen in the fall? At this time we do not know. As we learn more it will be shared out. I do not expect to have a plan to share out prior to the end of the school year. This is because so much can happen in 3 months. With that said, please know the topic is being discussed. Safety is the number one priority. My advice? You enjoy these moments and let us continue to work on the fall plan.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Your principal,

Miriam Friedman
