News and Announcements
Please join us for our upcoming curriculum nights. Each night starts at 7 and ends around 8:30.
7th Grade Night: September 13, 2018
8th Grade Night: September 17, 2018
On Tuesday, September 25th, Gregory Middle School, Naperville Police Dept., and 360 Youth Services will be coming together to host a Parent University night. There will be presentations on different topics ranging from internet safety to talking to your kids about vaping. You are invited to attend and will have an opportunity to choose from topics that interest you most.
On the night of our Parent University, 3 sessions will be available to parents. The night will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. You can choose to attend all three sessions, or come and go as needed to fit your schedule. Sessions will run for a half hour and each session will offer the same topics. This will hopefully allow you the opportunity to attend the topics that are most meaningful to you.
HERE, you will find a list of topics being offered. Please review them and once you know which 3 topics you’d like to attend, complete the registration form below. Please note that a minimum of 5 participants are needed to run a topic. If a topic is canceled, you’ll receive notification and an opportunity to pick a new one. Before the night of the event, you will receive a confirmation email listing your session, session location, and times.
If you have any questions, please let us know.

Magazine Drive Fundraiser
Gregory students are doing a great job on our magazine fundraiser! The final turn in date is Tuesday, September 11. Students should bring in orders and money before school to the Commons, and then collect prizes during lunch. Prizes include a collectible chicken, a pull from the cash box, a trip to the Sky Zone, or even Bulls tickets!
Gregory Middle School PTA
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Your Gregory PTA is gearing up for another year of helping the students and staff fund many activities and events! But we need your help - if you haven’t done so already, please consider joining the PTA for just $15. You’ll get first dibs on some of the volunteer opportunities at the school, and you’ll receive a school directory as well!
If you’re unsure about whether or not you’ve already joined the PTA, please email Susan Fargo at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out. A copy of the membership form is provided HERE - just fill it out and drop it off at the front office. A few hard copies will be available in the office as well.
If you've been thinking about volunteering but weren't sure how to go about doing so, look no further - we have a great option for you! We have several open chair positions available for the taking. Please take a look at the link below for a list of the open positions and their descriptions. If you have any questions and/or are interested in a position, please contact Kristen Milani at email@example.com or Leigh Ann Haller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And don’t forget to ‘like’ the Gregory Middle School PTA Facebook page, so you’ll always be in the loop about what’s happening at Gregory!
6th Grade Fun Lunch
Fun lunches have started. All 6th-grade students will be randomly selected & invited to attend a 6th-grade Fun Lunch - these will be held weekly for the next few months, allowing all 6th graders an opportunity to get to know their counselor Mrs. Leibfried & new classmates. The purpose of Fun Lunch is for kids to meet & interact with students from other teams while providing the counselor with an opportunity to learn about your students! Students will be asked to bring a friend, if they choose, & will play games while eating lunch and sharing about themselves.
Your student is not required to attend, however, we think this is a great opportunity for students to meet other 6th graders they otherwise might not get to know! No special preparation is required – invitations will be passed out at lunch each day and students should simply bring their regular school lunch or purchase lunch as they normally do. Students will be directed to the location or they can check in at the Student Service office. Lunch will not be provided, but if you have any allergy concerns we should be aware of or if you prefer your student NOT be invited, please contact Mrs. Leibfried 6th Grade Counselor.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to getting to know our 6th-grade class!
Attention all Gregory guys! Our premier guys-only singing group, the Gregory Men’s Ensemble, needs YOU! The group is open to ALL 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys at Gregory, and best of all, no audition is required! The group sings a wide variety of tunes and is often a crowd favorite at our concerts. This is your chance to be a part of it all! Sign-ups are in the Chorus Room (Room 4A). You may swing by at any time prior to the first rehearsal to sign up and pick up a permission slip. The first rehearsal will be Tuesday, September 18 after school. See Mr. Pfenninger in the Chorus Room if you have any questions.

Flag Football Results
After an awesome first drive, the Gregory 7th grade flag football team made the first touchdown of the game against Scullen. Unfortunately, despite some monster plays, the defense couldn’t stop Scullen from taking and holding the lead. Regardless, it was a fun, penalty-free, start to the season. Great game 7th-grade flag players!
Congrats to the 8th grade flag football team! Great team victory over the Scullen Sharks 36-6. The team played with Pioneer Pride. Keep working hard!
The 7th-grade girls played their first volleyball game against Scullen. AA lost, but played a great game, and A won in two! We had BIG wins for both teams against Hill. Great start to the season!
Congratulations to the 8AA and 8A volleyball teams on their wins against Scullen and Hill.

Congratulations to the Gregory Boys' Soccer team for their victory against Crone Middle School for their home opener! The boys played an incredible game and came out 1-0 in the end. Also, for their victory on the road against Fischer Middle School. The boys were down 1-0 at halftime and came back with a 2-1 finish for the win! Good luck and keep it up!
