We are excited to partner with the National Museum of Mathematics to bring a new virtual field trip experience to our 4th and 5th grade students.

MoMath, the National Museum of Mathematics, is an award-winning museum that highlights the role of mathematics in illuminating the patterns and structures all around us. Its dynamic exhibits, galleries, and programs are designed to stimulate inquiry, spark curiosity, and reveal the wonders of mathematics

MoMath will host two (2) separate virtual presentations for our students exploring the math behind cryptology. Students are introduced to the substitution cipher, which hides messages by replacing letters or groups of letters with other letters or groups of letters. Using patterns and perseverance, learn how to create hidden messages — and how to break secret codes!

The PTA worked with our school math specialist Mrs. Mulroe to choose this programming as it ties into our curriculum for both grade levels.

The virtual field trips will take place on October 19th during regular school hours.

On Tuesday, October 19th MOD Pizza, 10000 Town Center Avenue, will donate 20% of Takeout, Delivery & Pick up orders to Running Brook Elementary School PTA.

Please help us by RSVPing to save the date and inviting a friend (or 2) to eat with you!

The President's Corner

Hello Running Brook --

Fall is in full effect and we are well underway with our programming for the school year. Our membership drive has been one for the books!

We have set a new record with 118 total PTA memberships! Thank you everyone who signed up and is helping us advocate for our students within the walls for Running Brook as well as the legislative halls of Annapolis and DC. If you joined the PTA this year, you have automatically been added to our MemberHub account and placed in our grade level Hubs. The Hubs allow communication amongst families in the same grade level which is another way we are helping to connect our families to build a stronger community.

With the introduction of MemberHub, you can expect to see more direct communication from the PTA to keep our families aware of the current happenings at school and in the community.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us and caring so abundantly about our students.

Stephanie Martin

RBES PTA President
