Ronald McDonald House Tab Collection

Through June 5th, Rolling Hills is collecting can tabs to donate to our local Ronald McDonald House! Simply pop off the tabs and send in with your child in a plastic bag. The class with the highest amount wins a Rita's and Pretzel party!

Young Author Books

Beginning the week of May 18th until we are finished, I am requesting any volunteers that might be able to come in anytime/anyday to help put together our Young Author books. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please send me an email if you are able to help.

Thank you!

Please check with your child to see if they might need a new set of markers to get them through their beautiful Young Author Book illustrations.

What's New This Week?

Insect Research

During language arts this week we will be conducting our insect research project! Your child will be learning how to collect facts about the insect they selected, and then going to online websites and books to find out about an insect's habitat, appearance, food, life cycle stages, and other interesting facts. The next step in this process is the rough draft, and then the final publication. In addition, students will be creating a PowerPoint slideshow to assist them with their class presentation. Ask your child what insect they chose and how they are making out with this exciting research activity!

This week we will finish with numbers and patterns to 1,000. Our topic test will be on Thursday. To help your child review for this test, please take a few minutes to review what numbers look like in standard form (238), expanded form (200+30+8), and number word form (two hundred thirty-eight). Thank you!

Congratulations Erick, our First In Math winner last week, as well as the school's First In Math Player of the Week! Way to go Erick!! Please continue to encourage your child to visit this website frequently. Thank you! www.firstinmath.com
