Party Project
By: Abby, Leslie, Skylar, and Sydney
our plan:
Food: It would be cheaper to get Burger Bonanza because for a larger number of people, it's cheaper.
Entertainment: Jumpin' Jacks would be cheaper and easier because it is less money per hour, despite the set up fee.
Critical thinking questions- grab some grub
How did you create each equation?
The pricing is $10 per person, plus an initial $20 dollars for the catering fee. X equals the amount of people, so the equation is y=10x+20
At what point will the companies cost the same?
They will both be the same at 40 people, they both cost $420.
If you had a budget of $1,000 dollars for food, how many people, maximum, would you be able to have at the 7th grade blowout for each company?
100
Critical thinking questions- Bounce house
Describe how you created each equation.
JJ- it is $54 per hour with Jumpin Jack's plus the additional $84 fee to set it up and tear it down.
HA- it is $75 per for each student with no additional fee if you go with Hoppin Around.
At what point will both companies be the same?
They won't be.
If you only have a budget of $750 for the bounce house, how many hours (max) would you be able to have at the 7th grade blowout for each company?
with Hoppin Around, we would only have 10 hours for the full $750 and then if we go with Jumpin Jack's, we would only pay $732 we would only have 12 hours to jump.
