Dear Everitt Families:

I cannot believe we are almost through February!

As we head into March next week, we are preparing to show what we know on the CMAS assessments. All year, our students and teachers have been working hard in all of their classes. We are so excited for our students to have an opportunity to demonstrate all that they've learned this year. The CMAS is one of Everitt's chances to show the community what we're about and what our kids can do!

Speaking of Everitt kids doing great things, congratulations to 8th grader Delilah Zepeda-Orth for qualifying as a junior elite gymnast! Delilah scored 46.700 at a qualifying meet in Texas making her one of 22 13-14 year old girls to qualify so far this year. You're amazing, Delilah!

Next week, our music and theatre students have an opportunity to go see the musical at Wheat Ridge High School. Tickets are on sale now through the high school if you'd like to take your family to see the show, too.

We also have International Night coming up on March 9th! Invite your neighbors to join us for a wonderful evening celebrating the beautiful cultures represented in the Wheat Ridge area. There will be food, performances, and lots of fun!

Our counselors will be reaching out to incoming 6th graders next week to select their electives. Our current 6th and 7th graders will be receiving information about signing up for electives in the next few weeks as well.

Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

PTA (PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION) CORNER:

Our focus is on building lasting connections between families, getting to know our student’s teachers, and creating opportunities to come together as a community, valuing our diversity and celebrating our differences.

On Thursday March 9th from 5:00pm - 7:30pm we have International Night. This year it will expand to be a celebration of the diversity in our Everitt and Wheat Ridge communities! Would you like to share about your own family's culture at the event? Or do you have ideas about local restaurants that might be willing to donate a platter of food or a performance group that might like to be featured at this event? We would love your help in making this event a success! Please click on this google form: https://forms.gle/8SsyaL9fqR1aiyJq8 .

We will send out reminders and post dates and meeting minutes on the PTA page (https://everitt.jeffcopublicschools.org/family_resources/p_t_a ) as well as our FaceBook site (https://www.facebook.com/groups/everittpta).

CELEBRATIONS!

Drew A. - Drew consistently shares her math learning and understanding with others.

Santana B. - Tana has really developed into a leader amongst all of his peers. On our basketball team, Santana leads by example and helps coach kids up when he sees them needing help. His ability to connect and lead his peers makes him a great leader and community builder. Tana has done a great job of staying positive with teammates and helping younger players develop their skills.

Liam H. - Liam is always on task in science. He always thinks outside the box whether we are talking about ecosystems or atoms and elements. In addition to being responsible for his own success, he is willing to catch other students up with work or how to complete assignments when students are absent.

Izzy O. - Izzy cleaned a mess in the cafeteria that was not hers. Thank you Izzy!

Gianna R. - Thank you for holding the door for me. I was so impressed by your thoughtfulness!

Christian S. - Christian is always so helpful when we get deliveries. I appreciate your help!
