Marching Band Rehearsal
All students must be on their spot in the attendance block by 6 PM or they will be marked tardy for rehearsal. A text message will be sent through Cut Time by 5:15 PM each Tuesday to confirm whether rehearsal will start inside or outside based on weather.

All students must be in "Twos" by 2:45 PM or they will be marked tardy for rehearsal. Students need to use the time they have after school on M, Tu, W, or F to see teachers, go to club meetings, make up work/quizzes/exams.

Dear Winter Park Band families,
We had a lot of fun this past week! First, we had a full week of outdoor marching band rehearsals with no rain and lightning getting in our way. Though we wished for lower temperatures, that is a true treat this time of year in Central Florida. With that much time outside, the band was able to add 6 new pages of drill to the show and perform them at Lake Nona HS on Friday evening. Check out our socials for a video from this past week's halftime!
Also a huge thank you this week and every week of the marching band portion of the school year to both Robyn Fodor and the awesome team of chaperones and Brian Ribaric and the awesome team of ops volunteers for making this past week super smooth!
Our Instariase fundraiser has closed and was a big success! Check out Mrs. Ribaric's section of the Newsletter for the final total. Students who earned credit from this fundraiser will see that credit in their Cut Time financial statement later this week.
Extra Show Shirts have been ordered and will be in and distributed in 2 weeks.
This week, we have no football game! We will still have our regular Tuesday and Thursday marching band rehearsals, but then our students get to enjoy their 3-day Labor Day weekend with a free Friday evening - well deserved!
There's a big opportunity to see some incredible college bands in our area this coming weekend! With the football game between FSU and LSU in at Camping WorldStadium , both school's marching band will also be in attendance at the game. We will be hosting the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland the morning of the game on September 3 from 9 - 11 AM for a rehearsal at Showalter Field. This event is free and open to the public, so I hope you plan to make it for all or part of the time! The FSU Marching Chiefs will also be in the Orlando area rehearsing, and I will send out a notification on their rehearsal schedule and location as soon as I have it.

Hello Band Families!
It was wonderful seeing new faces at the parent meeting yesterday and meeting all our returning families again! Wasn't the show great? Our kids have worked so hard the past couple of weeks to jumpstart their marching season performing CARMEN!
Now we need YOU to help make the season run smoothly!
We believe that when parents get involved in supporting our talented musicians, the band thrives and our kids have an unforgettable band experience. Understanding that you have family, work and other obligations to attend to, we have made it super easy to sign up. And we have volunteer slots to meet the requirements of every schedule: daytime, evening, weekend and some needs that can be fulfilled on your time in your home.
Here are the steps:
- Get OCPS Additions approved or renew your past approval. Taking this step does not obligate you to volunteer! However, if at any point in the year you are able to help out, you will need to have this step done, including if you want to be a driver for Door2Door and help your student earn extra money for their band account. - The ironing of the uniforms will take place at the school during the existing Tuesday band practices on 8/8 and 8/18. Your student will already be at the school, so stick around and get to know fellow band parents!

Deadline for selling Band Program Ads is fast approaching!
Hello everyone,
Thank you to everyone who has already sold an ad in the Winter Park High Band Program. It’s great to see our community supporting our kids and the wonderful band program with their advertising dollars.
We are down to the last three weeks for selling band ads. All ad forms are due by Friday, September 15.
As a reminder, any ad sold by your student can help defray your financial obligations to Band. Once payment for the ad is received, the student’s Band account will be credited with 60% of the ad revenue that he/she sells, depending on the Band’s printing cost.
For example, if your student sells a full-page ad to a local business, that ad sells for $325. Once payment is received, your student will get an estimated $195 credit on their account.
If you would like to place a dedication to your student, purchasing a ½ page ad for $175 will result in a $105 credit back to your student’s band account.

Our Ironing Party last week was a huge success; we got all the uniforms we had sized ready to go! Thanks a million to our volunteers!
We will have one final ironing party on August 29th to get it all together before Labor Day break. The first game for wearing full uniforms should be Sept 8th.

All students in the Band will need an up to date physical and ECG to participate in all aspects of the Band program for the 2023-2024 school year. Some FAQ:
- What do I need if I am a new student? All new WP Band Students must have an up to date physical and an ECG report dated after April 1, 2023.
- What do I need if I am a returning student? If you were in the WP Band in the last school year, 2022-2023, you will only need an up to date physical. The ECG you had done last year is good for the remainder of high school.
- Is the physical an annual requirement? Yes, having an up to date physical will be a requirement from here on out.
- Is the ECG an annual requirement? No. Once you have a clear ECG it will be valid for your entire time in high school.
- Where can I get a free physical? OCPS offers free physicals to students through their school nurse. You can contact our WPHS Nurse Nancy Mooney at nancy.mooney@ocps.net to schedule an appointment.
- Are these requirements the same as athletics & ROTC? Yes, completing the physical and ECG process will clear you for Band, athletics, ROTC, & dance team.
- Where can I find the physical and ECG form I need to give to my physician? Please visit this WPHS Physical and ECG Form Packet with Instructions

Viewing your Student's Financial Account in CutTime:
There is a direct link to CutTime in "Quick Links" on the band website.
To access Cut Time, follow these steps.
- Go to CutTime.net and click “SIGN IN” in the top right-hand corner.
- Enter your Username or Email and Password You are now on your profile, where you can access our calendar and handouts and files. Click “Update Info” tab to input or update contact information. Don’t forget to click “Update” when you are finished.
- Click the “Finances” tab to view financial statements.
