Gabriel's Gazette

Earlier this week I put out an email reminding us that how we speak to students can greatly affect them. We also must remember that how we speak to each other, especially in front of students, can affect the students. In the attached article, which I want ALL OF YOU TO READ, Heft states, "If people are moved by the example of others, if the deeds and behaviors of parents and teachers leave lasting impressions upon their children and students, then all schools, and especially Catholic schools, must attend not just to a teacher's academic competence, but also to that teacher's total impact upon students."
What I don't like hearing is faculty being rude to each other. That is not a Catholic school. We may all get frustrated at times, tired, etc...but as St. Augustine says, we are the times...how we act is what we create.
If you focus on the negative you cannot fix the negative. If you focus on the positive, you can fix the negative and make that positive. We have an awful lot of positive things going on around here, focus on the positive and I promise you will be happier!
