Walk-through Focus of the Week
This week we will be focusing on "protection of the instructional time" as well as the implementation of "read aloud" and Eureka lessons. It is important that we stick to our day cards. We do not sacrifice instructional time for extended morning meeting time, restroom or water breaks. We adjust recess times to incorporate these things but we stay on schedule to ensure that we are maximize learning. Scholars will be able to adjust to transitions if we set them and are consistent. We should be at a 75% instruction 25% Routines and procedure split.
Math weekly focus:
- eureka math lessons
- Calendar math k-1
Literacy weekly focus
- Read aloud
- Close reads 2-5
- Mondo lessons
- F&P
- Power of Patterns (grammar routines)
Remember we will still be looking for school-wide expectations as well. We will be looking to see how effectively scholars exhibit HALLS and cafeteria expectations.
*Shoutout to 5th Grade for a successful week of school-wide expectations!

Weekly Motivation
We are called to make such an impact on scholars that they can make the same impact on others. What we teach them prepares them to teach someone else. Let this quote be in your mind every day as we work with our scholars. You may not see it in them this year, but know that what you are doing will come out of them at the right time. Below is the video I spoke of that features Wanzer's student.
