A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Luther Burbank Families,
Thank you to all of our families who attended our Open House events last week. Our teachers appreciated the opportunity to introduce themselves to you and provide you with an overview of the learning ahead for your child. Last Friday, I shared, via email, links to each of the grade level Open House webinar recordings as well as a copy of each grade level's presentation for your reference. We are working to resolve the technical difficulties associated with the 7th grade recording and will share that recording with you once those issues are resolved.
As we enter this week, I write with important information about your child's attendance during both in person days and learning from home (remote) days in our hybrid learning model. Attendance is critical to the learning process and is further required by state law, MGL c.76. Please be aware that your child's attendance is recorded for both in person and remote days; attendance is recorded in PowerSchool. Student attendance is also reported to the state. Attendance during remote classes and synchronous sessions is required and not optional. For students in our Remote Learning Academy, attendance during all synchronous classes and during all related service provider sessions, as applicable, is required.
As always, please contact the office or our school nurse if your child will be absent for the day, firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask that you contact us for both in person learning days AND learning from home days. If your child is absent and we do not hear from you, please be aware that we will be contacting you to verify your child's absence and to further check in about your child's well-being.
Yours in partnership,
