Seesaw support for you!
Want to create Seesaw activities and raise them up a notch?
Below is a 30 minute webinar to put some pizzazz into the activities you are creating! Some of you are having so much fun creating!
Level up your Seesaw activities - PD in Your PJs
Did you know?
- You can create an activity with more than one page?
- Each page can have 5 minutes of video on it?
- You can have up to 20 co teachers in one class to support your classroom?
- After you have pushed out an activity you can delete it and the work will remain in the child's journal? This is one way to clean up activities.
- There are 4 libraries for activities? Community, DCSD, Your School, and Your Library
Seesaw DCSD Expectations
- The district expectation is to interact with families through Seesaw on a daily basis.
- This is defined as reaching out through announcements to families and students, putting in activities or providing feedback to students.
- PLEASE consider how many activities students are receiving in their queue each day. If the P.E. teacher pushes out an activity, the art teacher puts out an activity, the school counselor pushes out one, and the classroom teacher pushes out 5 activities per day that is a lot for one day for a student. Please communicate within your building so students aren't receiving too many activities each day.
- Students can only use Lexia if they are working below or at grade level. Teachers should notify parents if students should or should not be working on Lexia and to what level.
Seesaw Family Connections
Family App
Parents should have this downloaded to receive notifications. This can be found in the
- App Store
- Google Play
- Kindle Fire
- or they can sign in on a computer
Are All of Your Families Connected?
Teachers can check to see who is connected and who isn't.
- Open up your class
- Go to the bottom right and click +Families
- A list of your students/families will show up
- A green check mark means they are connected because they accepted the invitation
- If there is the paper airplane icon with Invite Sent then the parent has NOT accepted and they are not connected to their student's journal.
- See the picture above for clarification. Click on it to enlarge.
