Updates and Reminders...
Hi All,
This is our first Roar of the New Year--Happy 2020:)
Thank you to everyone that pitched in last Thursday and Friday to cover classrooms and preps!
Just a recap from today's grade level meetings:
- Units for Semester 1 are due on January 31st by the end of the day. Please share your updated/revised units with John Benetti. He has offered to place them in your classroom folder for you. Units must be shared with him on the Drive. No Word documents allowed!
- Take some time to review your Staff Handbook.
- Remember that our dress down days are on Fridays:)
- Remind your students to wear navy blue sweatshirts or sweaters. Black, pink, red, etc. are not allowed. If needed, we have "Out of Uniform" reminders available in the office. This includes our primary students.
- Make sure that you have taken your students to the restroom/water before they go to Enrichment. Water bottles are not allowed in the 226 lab.
- If you take a sick day, remember to contact the Main Office (text Gina or Jess Nixon) by 1:00 p.m. to let us know if you will be in the next day. It's much easier to retain a sub if we know early in the day.
- Make sure that you have 3 full days of emergency lesson plans available in the office. If you used one, replace it.
Sacramento Avenue Issues
We need your help! As I am sure you know--Sacramento is a huge mess in the morning! Please help us message to our families that there is no parking allowed on the east side of Sacramento Ave. or the south side of School St. during school hours. Many of our parents park there in the morning, or double-park, blocking the street completely. We would like to remind all of our families that our doors and gates do not open until 7:50 a.m., and students should not be dropped off or waiting in front before 7:50 a.m. This has been communicated numerous times to parents in newsletters, however it's obvious that many are not listening. Perhaps their children can help spread the message! If you have any other ideas--let us know!
Just Ask Jes
Make sure that you are documenting MTSS in ASPEN. Review your MOY data carefully and let us know if there are students that you are concerned about. It's important to remember that if you do not have MTSS data on a student that you are concerned about, it is difficult to look at "staffing".
Clerk's Corner
The best way to avoid problems with payroll is to check your swipes daily!
Don't forget to add your after school time to the binder in the office.
