THE WARRIOR WEEKLY
DECEMBER 12TH, 2016
ONE MORE FULL WEEK
We have one more full week of school! This week is a pretty busy one, with ECA testing, our Winter Band Concert, the middle school Christmas dance, and cramming everything in before finals! WOW! It will move very quickly, and then we will be on a well deserved break. Once again, this has been a GREAT first semester, let's finish strong.
In this week's Warrior Weekly you will find many celebrations including our Warrior football team members nominated to the All-State team, the Warrior basketball team playing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and more of our #WDpride celebrated with our Spanish students visiting the elementary.
Have a great week!
THE STAFF SPOTLIGHT
This week the Warrior staff spotlight shines on our Spanish classes and Mrs. Cullum. This past Friday, the advanced Spanish classes traveled down to the elementary for "Fiesta Friday." This event brought some cultural education to our "Little Warriors," and it was a great day to bridge both buildings. Congrats to Mrs. Cullum and her Spanish students, my "Little Warriors" talked about the experience all weekend!
PIZZA WITH THE PRINCIPAL
This past Thursday we recognized the November students who were nominated for "Pizza with the Principal." Once again, the students were thrilled to be recognized by their teachers and to enjoy some Mancino's pizza.
WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?
WINTER BAND CONCERT
Come out and enjoy our Winter Band Concert on Tuesday evening. We look forward to a warm evening inside the Warrior auditorium, as we embark on a seasonal journey with the musical stylings of our Warrior Band under the direction of Mr. Zach Enos.
THEY SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY
Happy Warrior birthday to Ms. Bland this Wednesday! We hope you have a great day!
IT'S SECRET SANTA WEEK!
Don't forget, this week is Secret Santa week for all those who participate.
ROADHOUSE LUNCH
Texas Roadhouse will be providing the staff lunch on Wednesday, so don't forget to mark your calendar. They will also be selling gift cards during their time here.
#WDpride
Below is a tweet from the Madison Grant School Corporations account upon receiving a thank you letter from Warrior head coach, John McGlothin. In the letter, Coach McGlothin thanks the school and community of Madison Grant on their prayers and support for Nathan Russell. This is just another example of how the game or sport is far more than winning or losing. Wes-Del is a GREAT school, because of GREAT people, who make a GREAT impact on our world! #WDpride #FAMILY
WARRIORS NAMED TO ALL-STATE FOOTBALL TEAM
Two of our Warrior football players were named to the Associated Press 1A All-State Team. Tyler Rector and Kyle Dosch were both named to the defensive All-State Team. Rector was honored as a member of the All-State first team as a defensive back. Dosch was honorable mention at his position of defensive lineman. Warrior Nation is very proud of our student-athletes on their recognition. This is a great example of a wonderful program, school, and community. Congrats to Tyler, Kyle, and all of the Warrior football program!
BASKETBALL DAY IN INDIANA
This past Saturday, our Warrior boy's basketball team had the opportunity to play at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Although the Warriors fell short in their game against the Monroe Central Golden Bears, the day was a great experience for the boy's, our school, and our community. Our attendance doubled that of Monroe Central, and our boy's played a great game! We would like to thank Athletic Director, Kye Denney, and Warrior head coach, John McGlothin, for their efforts to make this great day come to reality for our students, school, and community.
