Celebrations!
- Excellent BES Experience! Thank you for incorporating student voice into the evening's activities! The students were excited to share Bransford with their special guests.
- The power of Twitter! After a tweet about the moon, Brittany received the following email: Hello from (former BES parent). I still follow your twitter account. We were out late last night at a baseball game. We wouldn't have noticed that beautiful moon if not for your tweet. It was a nice topic to talk about on the way home. Thanks!
- Thank you everyone for participating in Read Across America Week! What a fun celebration of reading! Thank you Raschel for the wonderful ideas!
- Thank you Raschel and the incredible library volunteers for an awesome Book Fair!
- Thank you Tonya for STAAR training on Tuesday!
- Great presentation by Cathy, Lauren, Leigh, and Tonya to GCISD's leadership team! Thank you for articulating the vision for moving from a teaching to a learning platform through the integration of arts!
Relationships First
How do you touch kids hearts each day? See below for some quick ways to continue to foster relationships with our Texans.
- Hug, high-five or handshake as they walk in the door each morning
- Smile
- Circle up
- Eat lunch with your class or a couple of students once or twice a week
- Join in a game at recess
- Use kind words and tone when speaking
- Catch them being awesome (this is an easy one with our amazing Texans)
- Send an encouraging note home
There are countless ways to show our Texans how much we care about them. Be prepared to share a couple of things you do at staff meeting on Tuesday.
Thank you for building up our Texans as we continue to build an excellent school together!
Reminders
- Please remember, the building is locked on the weekends. If you access the building, it sets off the alarm. Thank you for taking time on the weekends to rest and relax to prepare for an awesome week with our Texans!
- “If it’s not serving your present, put it in the past.”- Gael Lynch
- This upcoming Friday is our LAST Texan Time of this session.

Transfer Information
Spring includes many activities in our district and the Human Resources department begins working with employees on transfer requests. Policy DK (local) states that an employee may request reassignment within the District to another position for which he or she is qualified. If an employee is interested in requesting a voluntary transfer to another campus, they should complete the Internal –Transfer and Reassignment Request job posting. This job posting will be available beginning March 3, 2017.
Employees seeking to transfer to another campus are urged to fill out the transfer request application in a timely manner. The final day that transfers will be approved is June 2, 2017.
** Transfers do not apply to individuals who are seeking a new position. Employees wanting to move from a teaching position to an administrative position, for example, must fill out an application for the new position. A transfer is a move from campus to campus in a similar position.
Directions for employees seeking a transfer within the district:
- Apply online on the Human Resources Homepage
- Select Careers for Internal Employees
- Once logged in, select the Internal – Transfer and Reassignment Request job posting to apply
Once an employee has applied in the transfer pool, principals will have the opportunity to review this pool as they seek qualified candidates to fill vacant positions. Please express your desire to seek a transfer to your current principal in order to facilitate the process.
