Tet Offensive

U.S. History, Period 7

A series of major attacks by communist forces in the Vietnam War. In the early years of 1968, Vietnamese communist troops seized and held some major cities of Tet. Tet Offensive was the name of the lunar new year holiday and all attacks took place in the South of Vietnam.

Democratic Convention

A series of presidential nominating conventions held every four years since 1832. The conventions were held in Chicago. The purpose was to select a new presidential nominee to run as a democratic party.

Assasination of Robert Kennedy

Took place on June 6, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA. He was an american politician from Massachusetts and he also serves as a senator in New York until he was assasinated.

Assassination of MLK Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was married to Coretta Scott King. Before he was assassinated, he was planning a speech about sanitation workers. Not long after, he entered the balcony off of room 306 to speak to some below him. Moments later, he was shot and killed.
