Kindergarten Round-Up 2022

Tahquamenon Area Schools

If you are interested in registering your child to begin Kindergarten in the Fall of 2022 we will be holding a Kindergarten Round Up! This event will be in TAS’s cafeteria on March 21, 3:00pm - 5:00pm and March 22, 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

Documents needed for registration include:

*birth certificate

*two proofs of address

*immunization record.

Please contact the office at (906) 293-3226 ext 1112 to set up an appointment. Children who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2022 are eligible to register or a waiver is available for those who will be five years old by December 1, 2022.

ALL student district issued computers need to be in their appropriate carts by Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Students will need to sign a form if they need their computer over break. Many computers are unaccounted for. Parents please assist the school is looking for computers or cords at home. Please have student bring to Mrs. Canfield if any are found. Your help is greatly appreciated.

-Wednesday, March 23 - half day

-End of 3rd marking period - Friday, March 25, 2022.

-Spring Break is March 28 - April 1, 2022

-Spring Parent/Teacher Conference - Thursday, April 7th 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

- Monday, May 9 - Senior Decision Day

-May 24 - Baccalaureate - 6:00 p.m.

-May 25 - Class Night - 7:00 p.m.

-May 27 - Graduation - 7:00 p.m.

-June 8 - Last Day of School (subject to change if "snow days" go beyond 6 days)

Bingo for Books, Thursday, March 24, 6:00-7:00 PM, cafeteria. Families get to play regular-style bingo together. Prizes will be awesome books for each bingo.

This is a letter from State Superintendent Dr. Rice in regards to state testing which is coming up.

Please remember to call the appropriate office when your child will not be in school for any reason. The more accurate we keep attendance the better misunderstandings can be avoided. Please remember board policy is anything after 10 absences a student is considered chronically absent and futher action can be taken.

The district moved to a new app last spring. If you haven't gotten the app, do so now. This app is more user friendly and is connected to the web page for consistant information sharing. Please see below on how to get the app. Web page address is taschools.org.
