2018 School Counseling Summer Forum

The 2018 School Counseling Summer Forum is on Tuesday, June 12th from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm at Edgar Road Elementary at 1131 Edgar Road in Webster Groves, MO.

The Summer Forum will feature twelve different breakout sessions designed for school counselors on a variety of topics. Participants will have the opportunity to choose three to attend. This event is also a great opportunity to collaborate and connect with others in the school counseling profession.

Plan to stay and attend the Collaborative Lunch at an area restaurant after the Summer Forum.

SLSSCA District Communicator Opportunity

Are you interested in developing leadership skills and becoming involved with SLSSCA? If yes is the answer, then here is an opportunity for you. SLSSCA is currently looking for school counselors who will serve as the SLSSCA District Communicator for their school district. As the SLSSCA District Communicator you would be expected to attend SLSSCA events, develop direct communication with an assigned SLSSCA Governing Board member and communicate key information back to your district school counselor's and important stakeholders.

MSCA Emerging Leaders

The goal of the MSCA Emerging Leader Program is to identify potential leaders within the school counseling profession in Missouri and to provide them with opportunities to become actively involved with MSCA.


Emerging leaders must:

  • Be a member of the Missouri School Counselor Association

  • Be employed as a professional school counselor in Missouri (possess a valid certificate and is employed by a school district)

  • Not be a Committee Chair or serve as an elected officer on the Governing Board

  • Have a desire to further the mission and vision of MSCA through professional advocacy and leadership

Application Process

Individuals interested in becoming an Emerging Leader must submit:

  • Your letter of interest

  • Your resume

  • A letter of support from your supervisor or principal

  • A letter of recommendation from an MSCA member who knows you.
