WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CLASSROOM??
- Homework: Students need to get their weekly reflections signed, complete bingo and the math problem on the back side. They need to return everything together in the homework folder by Friday of each week!
- Language Arts - Unit 9: Spending Time and Money. The essential question we will look at is What do our economic choices tell us about ourselves? Also, students will be participating in a book club with their peers in the classroom. Students will need to read a certain number of chapters each week and complete their weekly job for the week.
- Writing -Students will be reviewing all types of writing and writing an informational, opinion and narrative in relationship to our ELA unit.
- Spelling- The spelling patterns for this unit include words with suffixes -able, -ful and -less, and words with prefixes un-, dis-, pre- and re-.
- Vocabulary- Students will be able to use reference materials and context clues to define domain-specific vocabulary. They will show their understanding of the words by using them in a sentence during collaborative conversations and in their writing.
- Math - We will be reviewing Unit 5-Geometry and Measurement before taking the end of unit assessment. Then we will move on to our last unit which is a review of problem solving with multiplication and division. It is important for all students to be practicing their multiplication facts at home. They should know all of their facts 1-10 by the end of third grade.
- Innovation: We will be working on some problem based learning where students will be working in groups to design their own theme park. They will use reading, writing, and math to design their very own theme park.
- 7 Habits - Habit of the Month-Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw!
If you have any box tops at home please send them in! We collect box tops in the classroom all year long!
