Park Terrace Elementary
September 29, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
Fall is truly in the air, and I, like so many of us, just love this time of year. Our students have the chance to learn and play outside. Coach Downs is having his classes play football outside. We are doing bus safety. The leaves are changing, and the air is more crisp and clean. It all adds up to this wonderful feeling of fall, and I am truly enjoying the energy of it all around our school.
As we transition from summer to fall, we are also transitioning from the hustle and bustle of the start of the year to getting in the groove of being in the actual school year. On the horizon are our MAP assessments (weeks of October 4 and October 11), picture days (October 11 and October 12), Fall Break (No school on October 18-22.), and all the amazing learning and growing that occurs from one week to the next.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 continues to be prominent throughout the community. We continue to experience high transmission in Anoka County and we do have active cases. The numbers are updated each Wednesday on the COVID-19 hub. At Park Terrace, we are not nearing any threshold for additional actions.
That being said, we need everyone’s help with three specific things:
- Please keep your child at home if they are sick or experiencing symptoms. If they come to school with symptoms, we will isolate them and send them home.
- Please keep your child at home if you are waiting for a COVID test result.
- Please communicate with us. If your child is sick/has symptoms and/or is being tested, please be in contact with our health office (763-600-5604). This helps us understand what is happening within our school community as we work to maintain a safe environment for all students and staff.
We want to keep in-person learning going for all students with minimal disruptions. It will take all of us working together. Thank you.
In spite of the pandemic, we have so much to celebrate and be excited about. Next week, for example, is Homecoming Week! We will be sending information home with students on all the different dress-up days here at Park Terrace to help celebrate.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and has the opportunity to enjoy the loveliness of fall!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
Principal

Students who win earn a $500 cash prize for their school and will choose where to direct the funds from several pre-determined projects. The winning student will also win a $50 Panther Store Gift Card. The winners will be randomly drawn on Thursday, October 7. Good luck, Panthers!
