Buckingham Remembers

Ian Fay was a spark of life as a Buckingham student. After moving through Buckingham and Holicong, he went on to graduate from East in 2018, making his way to Temple University. Despite vim, vigor, and bravery, Ian lost his fight to the cancer that afflicted him since his diagnosis in early 2018. Of all the places at Buckingham, Ian thoroughly enjoyed the library. As a result of his love for the library and the thoughtfulness of some retired and current teachers, Buckingham dedicated a chair in his honor to the library. A simple ceremony was held for many to gather and honor Ian's memory as well as his mother, father, and brother Kevin, a senior at East. It made everyone realize all the more how connected we truly are in our shared experiences together as a school community. Thank you for enriching so many lives in your brief time with them, Ian.

First Grade & Johnny (Chapman) Appleseed

First graders made applesauce to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day and students learned about using a graphic organizer to collect information as they watched a BrainPop, Jr. video about Johnny Appleseed. They also learned of various ways to “Show What They Know" and painted their understanding of Johnny Appleseed.

Roxy Reading Dog-Holly!

Mrs. Fillette’s first graders were excited to meet Holly today!

Fire Prevention Week with the Midway Volunteer Fire Co.

On Monday, October 7th - Buckingham Primary students attended a special assembly on fire prevention and safety - hosted by the Midway Volunteer Fire Company. Children listened to local Firefighters review safety standards and expectations in cases of real emergencies. Then, they were able to see the specially designed fire truck and how it works to save lives! Thanks to Midway Volunteer Fire Company for their time and dedication to our community!

Mark Teague

Mark Teague visited Buckingham on Monday, October 14th. K-3 welcomed him and got to enjoy listening to him share his newest book, Fly! Mr. Teague told everyone it was the first audience he’s shared his new book with! Mark told the students where he gets his inspiration and shared details about his writing process. What a wonderful opportunity to have an award winning children’s book author and illustrator visit our school!

Outdoor Brain Break!

Mrs. Fillette’s class loves taking a quick brain break to enjoy these beautiful fall days outside!

Mrs. Raitt's 5th Grade Class

5th graders in Ms. Raitt’s class decided to observe nature and write about it.

"One District, One Book"

Buckingham kicked off our “One District, One Book” reading of RULES, by Cynthia Lord. Grades 4-6 attended a fun assembly, received a free copy of the book, and will engage in some discussions over the next few weeks at home and school as they read it with parents. 3rd graders got the book as well, to enjoy at home with parents.

6th Grade Ambassadors

Buckingham sixth graders step up to serve as Buckingham Ambassadors - 33 students in all. That’s roughly half of the grade level!! They help kids and staff with Pow-wow assemblies, volunteer efforts, classroom challenges, tour guides for parents and special guests, and a host of other ways in which they lead by example and service while they personify the 6 Buckingham Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship
