Room Mom Meetings - October 15th & 16th
Thank you to all who volunteered to be head/assistant room moms in your child’s class this year. We really appreciate your willingness to help and be a part of the fun things we do here at First Faith, and we are so excited to have you as room moms!
We have room mom meetings coming up on Tuesday, October 15th or Wednesday, October 16th in room 216. Please plan to attend one of these meetings as we will be going over important information for the year. The meetings will begin around 9:15am after you drop your kiddos off. If you have another child that does not currently attend First Faith, we will have childcare available during the meetings. However, you must send me an email brittnib@fmcm.org and let me know if you will need childcare by Thursday, October 10th. Please include your child’s name and age.
Immediately following the room mom meeting there will be a Serving @ First Class. This class is required by all volunteers who interact with children at First Methodist Mansfield. The class consists of listening to a quick training regarding safety practices. Please allow about an hour for the room mom meeting, or an hour and a half if you need to stay for the Serving at First training. If you have already attended a Serving at First class, you do not need to stay and are free to go. If you are unsure of your status, please check the room mom letter you received last week.
Thank you all in advance for taking time out of your day to ensure our policies and procedures are adhered to. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Our little pumpkins are going to visit the pumpkin patch!
Trick-or-Treat Time!!
We will provide the trick-or-treat bags and candy, so just bring your little trick-or-treater for a day of silly fun!
Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences & Scholastic Book Fair
We will also be hosting our Scholastic Book Fair all this week (Nov. 4th-7th) in front of the FFP&K office. It will be open in the mornings after drop off from 9:00-9:30am, and in the afternoons at pick up from 2:00-3:00pm. If you can not make it to the fair, no worries...you can shop online instead! More details regarding online shopping and volunteer opportunities to come soon!
November 11th ~ Veteran's Day Holiday (no school)
Wesley Mission Center Field Trip
Our threes, fours and kinder classes will have their annual Wesley Mission Center Field Trip on November 18th & 19th. The Mission Center Food Pantry is located on our FMC Mansfield campus, so the classes will just walk across our back parking lot (please check your child's take home folder for information on specific date and time). The goal and purpose of this field trip is to show the children that helping others is something we can all do, and that even small gestures can have a BIG impact!
The Mission Center Food Pantry is in need of hygiene items. Each age group will be providing different items this year, which is broken down as follows:
Threes: Baby Powder, Baby Lotion and Baby Wipes
MW or TTH Fours: Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Bar of Soap and Lotion
4 Day Fours: Shampoo, Conditioner and Deodorant
Kinder: Laundry Detergent, Dish Detergent and Toilet Paper
You can bring some or all of the items for your child's age group, it's up to you! Please know they are grateful for whatever you can provide, and generic brands are just fine. You can bring your items to your child's classroom -- there will be boxes outside the door to place the items in. Thank you for being so thoughtful of others, especially during this time of year!
Thanksgiving Break ~ November 25th-29th
A few reminders...
- No food or drinks are allowed in the sanctuary (during chapel) or on the playground! Also, please do not send snacks or breakfast into class with your child when you drop them off in the mornings. They need to eat a good breakfast each morning BEFORE arriving at school.
- Please remember, jewelry of any kind is not permitted at school! Jewelry can be a choking hazard -- if pieces break off they can be picked up by little ones and put into mouths.
- When paying for things with cash, such as tuition or field trips, please bring exact cash as we only have so much petty cash on hand and often have difficulty making change.
- PLEASE be sure to sign up for the preschool-wide remind by using the link at the bottom of this newsletter. This is different from your classroom remind (which is used to give you classroom specific information) - we use the preschool remind to give you important preschool-wide updates and information, as well as quickly communicate with you in case of an emergency.
