NCVPS ESPAÑOL 3
WEEK 3, JULY 2 - 6
WITH SRA. BEVERLY AGUIRRE
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN SPANISH 3 THIS WEEK?
Students should be done with ALL assignments in the Getting Started Unit, Units 1 and 2. Unit 2 was due this past Friday evening, June 29. This included a Final Project and Test which count 15% of his/her grade. I communicated with all parents this past week as to student progress.
This week students are working on Unit 3, La Salud, with assignments being due this Friday, July 6 @ 11:55pm. (See below.)
Just a reminder that students are expected to login daily, Monday - Friday, and are expected to work at least 2 hours a day, possibly 10-15 hours a week. This is an 18 week class that students are completing in 8 weeks.
ATTENDING AN RLC (REQUIRED LIVE CLASS) FOR UNITS 2/3, 4/5, 6/7, 8/FINAL PROJECT
Each two weeks students have to attend an RLC (Required Live Class) for combined units 2/3, 4/5, 6/7 and 8/final project. Students are expected to login a few minutes early and actively participate in the lesson. When finished students are to do a reflection to submit along with a copy of their notes. Students had 4 opportunities last week to attend an RLC for Units 2/3. Below is the upcoming week schedule for Units 2/3 RLCs. Please encourage your student to attend! If a student is unable to attend an RLC, please have him/her contact me for information on making up the RLC.
How are grades calculated?
Culture Cafe sessions
One of the assignments students must complete for our course is to attend one Culture Cafe session. The session can be about any country. It does not have to be about a Spanish speaking country. Students have 2 opportunities to attend a Culture Cafe this week.
Peer Tutor Center
If/when a student needs additional help, he/she should first ask me, the teacher. If I'm not available and it's a quick question, he/should should take advantage of the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center. If more serious content tutoring/remediation is needed, the student/s can request one-on-one tutoring with me and/or a peer tutor. If a student is weary, nervous, and/or conscientious about taking the class online, he/she can request a Virtual Buddy from the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center for moral support, technical assistance, and more.
