- December 22- Christmas Celebration at 1 p.m.
- December 23- January 4- Christmas Break (No School for Students)
- Januray 5- First Day Back for Students
Our class had 96% attendance for last week. We met our school goal! Thank you for making attendance a priority in your home. When the students are at school, they are learning! :)
Danielle Elkins was voted as this month's ROAR student. She was selected by her peers because of her outstanding leadership and for being a caring friend to others. Way to go, Danielle!
Next Tuesday, we will have our Christmas celebration at 1 p.m. The students will have some time to visit with each other as they snack, make a craft, play a game, and hear a story being read by a parent! :) If you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you. Feel free to email or call me with any questions. :)
Next week, we will be getting ready for the break by finishing up any unfinished work and taking our Unit 4 Big Idea 2 test. The students will be enjoying their last day of school by having a Polar Express day of fun and singing carols in the afternoon! Remember to dress your kiddos in warm pajamas on Tuesday for the fun!
This is what it will look like the week we come back from break:
Word Work- put, why, think, good, very
Reading- We will practice how to respond to books by writing about our reading in our reading journals. The students will be responding in various ways to fictional books about winter themes.
Writing- We will get ready to take our middle of the year writing prompt by reviewing what good writers do and answering some writing prompts.
Math- We will start Unit 4, Big Idea 3 when we come back from the break. The students will explore ways to add two digit numbers.
Science- We will be experimenting with light, energy, and sound during our science time. I am excited to see the connections they make as they familiarize themselves with these concepts!
I am excited to see those of you who have volunteered to attend the Christmas celebration next week. For those of you who I don't see before the break, have a Merry Christmas and a restful break! :)
