Math Update
This week we will spend our time building fluency with all of the facts we have learned. We now have quite a few under our belt: 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 9s, and 10s! Wow! Over the past few weeks we have connected multiplication to using rows and columns, making equal groups, repeated addition, and figuring area. The students have become experts in using their Count-Bys (skip counting by a certain number to find the answer) and even learned the "Nine's Trick" with their fingers. Continue to practice these facts at home to build speed and confidence.
Reading for the Week
To start off the week, we will visit the Grant County Courthouse and learn more about the judicial system. Judge VanDeHey is a wonderful host and will walk us through the parts of the courtroom. The students are treated to a tour of the courthouse and a reenactment of the story we read last week, The Trial of Cardigan Jones. What a wonderful moment where our literature will come alive!
