Desert View Hosted Their First VAPA Night!
Desert View Elementary put on their first Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Night and it was a huge hit! The artwork was absolutely amazing and the turn out was phenomenal! It was such a treat to watch the pride in the students' faces as they got to show off their masterpieces to family, staff, and visitors!
A special shout out to all of the participating DV teachers and to Bertha Briseno, Edith Turriza, and Betty Cabanilla for organizing and making this event come to life! Keep up the great work Desert View!

Attention Read 180 U and System 44 Teachers!
If you are having issues with your program software (glitching, freezing, etc.) HMH recommends that teachers reach out to them directly.
You have multiple options for contacting HMH for help:
1. The Product Support Page ( https://www.hmhco.com/product-support) has two options:
- "Chat with an Expert" can be found in the bottom right corner (see below)
- "Contact Us" (email) can be found in the top right corner (see below)
After contacting HMH please email Gina Wilson at: wilsongm@lancsd.org with the case number and the follow-up or outcome so that she can pursue the issue further if needed.
Gina is tracking all HMH issues so that they can be discussed at a later date with the HMH consultants.
We realize that it is never convenient to take time out of your day or teaching to troubleshoot program issues, but our hope is that you are able get support in a timely fashion so your students can continue to progress through their software without frustration.

Help Students Own Their iReady Learning with Data Trackers!
It’s that point in the school year—you’re halfway through, holidays are over, and state testing is approaching. It’s an important time to keep kids engaged, but leaders and teachers may be facing new challenges in doing so. Research shows students are more likely to be engaged when they track their own data and reflect on their learning.
Encourage the use of data trackers to keep students engaged in Online Instruction.
