  • Mushers ages 14-17
  • When a musher turn 18 they have can go in to the Iditarod for adults

What?

  • 160 mile long race
  • very competitive
  • dogs have to stay in perfection during the race
  • a shorter version of the adult iditarod race

When?

  • on february 28
  • since 1978

Why?

  • test teens skills at guiding and caring for their dogs on the trail
  • the way they can travel on the trail with their dogs

Additional information

  • 5-10 dogs
  • some spend years training
  • must take a ten hour break
